Reigendo
Confession et Inspiration - Je dois t'avouer quelque chose: my works, penned by Travis McCracken,
Drawing inspiration from the wisdom of 'The Book of Five Rings' (五輪書, Go Rin No Sho) by Miyamoto Musashi, 'The Art of War' (孙子兵法, Sūnzǐ Bīngfǎ) by Sun Tzu, and 'Tao Te Ching' (道德经, Dào Dé Jīng) by Lao Tzu.
Reigendo
is a cross-disciplinary exploration of the timeless lessons & newly discoverd insights. This work delves into how historical texts, though originating in different cultural and historical contexts, reveal universal guiding principles of nature. Examining the strategic brilliance of Musashi, who masterfully united the minute and the grand from individual sword practice to large-scale battle strategy—we can draw parallels to concepts in quantum physics, which seek to understand the unity between the micro and macro realms of the universe.
Introduction of the author, I am born of a modern(ish) ‘Canadian OG’ Acadian lineage looking back traces to the ancient princes of Persia, where my ancestors were noble rulers before their nomadic ways invited various settlers. The Persian region, known for its rich cultural and religious history, has been a melting pot of different beliefs over millennia. I will be respectfully exploring past histories, an example of one such as Zoroastrianism, one of the world's oldest monotheistic religions. It was founded by the prophet Zoroaster (or Zarathustra) in ancient Persia. It introduced concepts such as heaven, hell, and a final judgment, which influenced later Abrahamic religions like Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The Zoroastrian faith emphasized the duality between Ahura Mazda (the supreme god of good) and Angra Mainyu (the spirit of evil), and it flourished under the Achaemenid, Parthian, and Sasanian Empires until the Muslim conquest in the 7th century.
In a world marred by conflict and extremism, my vision through "Reigendo" is to seek a path towards peace. True peace can only be achieved when extremism is not at the helm of global affairs. By understanding and integrating the strategic brilliance of Musashi, the tactical wisdom of Sun Tzu, and the philosophical depth of Lao Tzu, we can aspire to a world where harmony and understanding prevail over discord and division.
Looking forward into modern times ties to Cajun, German/French royalty, and Nordic ancestry; my heritage in most recent times surely effects how I percieve the world, all family stories do that is what makes us unique. My maternal lineage saw my rad voodoo grandad hypnotizing people before performing surgery in a small Canadian town, while my other grandad was off to war, joining the Canadian Army as a WWII motorcycle scout. The story is not mine or about me. Yet I undoubtedly will unwittingly bleed my culture onto the pages. And I am planning a specific personal introduction or a forward as they say, in the book, in which i further explain a mathematical unifying theory I have presented. □²Ψ = ∇²Ψ − 1/2 ∂²Ψ/∂t² = 0

"Confucius, the revered teacher, journeyed far and wide to seek wisdom. It was during one such journey that he encountered the enigmatic Lao Tzu. Upon rejoining his followers, Confucius described the meeting with a sense of awe and reverence. 'I know that birds fly, fish swim, and animals run. Creatures that run can be trapped; those that swim can be caught in nets; those that fly can be shot down. But what to do with a dragon, I do not know. It rides on the clouds and the wind. Today I met Lao Tzu, and he is like a dragon.'

"Reigendo,
delve into the heart of a legendary figure, Miyamoto Musashi, whose life and philosophy have inspired countless generations. While this book will explore in detail iconic moments such as the swallow counter and the famous duel with Sasaki Kojiro, it is not merely a recounting of Musashi's feats. Instead, "Reigendo" seeks to look inside the proverbial cave”
